ESA canceled the E3 2020 due to a coronavirus

ESA officially made a statement regarding the E3 2020, confirming our nightmares of the cancellation of the event because of the coronavirus. After the departure of the director of the show, IAM8bit, we considered the possibility that the event ends, but the ESA announced that it would cancel the traditional even in favor of a much safer digital showcase. The E3 2020 was initially scheduled from 9 to 11 June at the Los Angeles Congress Center and players can still have a lot of news to wait during these dates by other methods.

After careful consultation of our member companies regarding the health and safety of all in our industry; Our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our long-standing partners of the E3, we made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled from 9 to 11 June in Los Angeles, said ESA. Before the Covid-19 situation really starts, Geoff Keighley abandoned the presentation at the E3 2020, but when Iam8bit canceled their plans, we knew that big news was going to happen. Many events are canceled with a pandemic that spreads through the planet and game events are not exempt from the imminent threat.

Following the growing and overwhelming concerns about the Covid-19 virus, we felt that this was the best way to proceed in an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed not to be able to organize this event for our fans and supporters. But we know that this is the right decision on the basis of the information we have today. The ESA will give refunds to fans and exhibitors who have invested in advance in this year’s E3 and they work with their different members to create a comparable online showcase.
